Sparkle For Jesus

It’s very seldom that I am ask what my favorite color is because as a general rule one look at me and you  know pink is my most favorite color. Pink sparkles are even better!  You know,  God even paints with pink in His  sunsets and sunrises. 

As you can  tell by the name of this program  “Sugar Sticks with Pinky” my nickname is “Pinky” So many times  my friends and family have told me that they saw something pink and it made them think of me. Aww so sweet! They associate me with Pink.  More than that I want to be associated with Jesus. I wanna sparkle for Jesus 

As followers of Christ aren’t we called to shine Bright so  that people associate us with Jesus?! We don’t have to preach a sermon, write a devotional, wear Jesus t-shirts, or even post Christian stuff on social media  to shine Jesus. Those things are all awesome tools for us to use but simply living everyday life with Jesus is an effective witness. Jesus told us in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” NKJV  

While on vacation in California  several years back, I found myself conversing with a lady who shared that she was  atheist. My mind went racing “how can  I share Jesus” I didn’t want to come off as JUST another Religious person trying to convert her. I wanted her to truly see Jesus in me. I didn’t get heavy into the gospel but simply shared that I had experienced  some things that were undeniably God.  We went on conversing about this and that. Of course  I mentioned my band  Gems of Grace. Then just before I walked away I handed her one of our Gems of Grace cards. Her comment when she  saw my card blew me away! She said “I can see why it is called Gems of Grace I see Grace all over you” 

Your testimony, prayers and love  maybe the very hope that someone needs. 

John 13:35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.””

Like a line from of our songs says “Holy Spirit shine sparkle like a diamond” 

We have the Hope that this broken world needs. It’s Jesus! 

Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”NKJV

So go on… shine bright and Sparkle for Jesus

Box of Joy

Psalms 150:6 Psalm 147:1 John 16:24 Philippians 4:4 Chirp Chirp Chirp sings the sweet little bird in the tree. Each note of her lovely  song wafting in the breeze. She sings with Joy to God her creator. As Psalms 150 verse 6 proclaims  “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” Worship brings Joy. Singing alone isn’t worship by any means but the song that is recanting the soul’s love and longing for God  is music in His ears. As a pianist, keyboard player and songwriter I love this part of worship. “Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.” Psalms 147:1 NKJV When we  open our mouth with sincere heart felt songs and adoration Joy leaps back to life.  Gratitude also  brings Joy. Jesus and Coffee

  Psalms 23:6 Psalms 23:1  Hebrews 6:19 Romans 5:5 Let’s talk about coffee for a second.  When I was a kid I  decided to try coffee because I wanted to drink it with my dad. Eww it was bitter! The majority of my adult life I just enjoyed the smell of  coffee but wanted no part of drinking it. My son, however, changed All of that a few years ago when he treated me to a  Frappe.  Now, I am part of the coffee loving world! Commenting to a family member about how much coffee goodness I had missed out on, I learned that my dad drank his with no sugar or creamer. No wonder it was bitter! I missed  out because I didn’t realize that coffee didn’t have to be bitter.  I want to share with you today that life doesn’t have to be bitter The 23rd Psalm speaks of God’s   faithfulness.
