A+ Faith

I was asked the question the other day “Does God test people” That’s  a good question! Yes He does but let’s chat about this a bit. Though I graduated in the top 100 academically unfortunately I wasn’t a straight A student. I probably should have studied more.  In God’s test of Faith I want more than A  I am praying and studying tor an  A+! “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:” 1 Peter 4:12 KJV

Abraham was a living example of an A+faith. The purpose of his test was to see if he was fully surrendered and would not hold anything back from the Lord. God told him to take his son  Isaac that he loved and offer him as a burnt offering to Him on the mountain. Yes the same Isaac the son of God’s promise! Wait just a minute what is going on here?!!! Don’t worry God’s Intent wasn’t to harm Isaac or take him away from Abraham He was examining his heart for faith. . So  Abraham gathered his donkey, knife, wood for the sacrifice,  two of his men and of course Isaac. On their  third day they came to the place God had specified. At this point his faith was evident as he told the men that He and Isaac would go up and worship and come back to them. Notice that he worshiped in his testing! He knew Jehovah God was a promise deliverer. “God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19 KJV I’m sure Abraham’s heart sank all the way there but that didn’t diminish his grade.  Along the way Isaac began to notice there was no sacrifice so he said to his father look there’s the  fire and the wood but where is the lamb for sacrifice? Abraham answered  with rock solid confidence “my son,  God will provide himself a lamb” Abraham’s answer was not only faith filled but it was parrellel to the cross. God provided Jesus the Lamb of God for our sacrifice. Sure enough God provided a lamb for the sacrifice. Abraham built an altar and called that place “Jehovah Jireh” the Lord provides.  Rest assured Jehovah is no promise breaker!  “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV

In the deepest part of your test God has provided you a lamb the Lamb of God! Every testimony begins with a test. The answer is a strong A+ Faith

Box of Joy

Psalms 150:6 Psalm 147:1 John 16:24 Philippians 4:4 Chirp Chirp Chirp sings the sweet little bird in the tree. Each note of her lovely  song wafting in the breeze. She sings with Joy to God her creator. As Psalms 150 verse 6 proclaims  “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” Worship brings Joy. Singing alone isn’t worship by any means but the song that is recanting the soul’s love and longing for God  is music in His ears. As a pianist, keyboard player and songwriter I love this part of worship. “Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.” Psalms 147:1 NKJV When we  open our mouth with sincere heart felt songs and adoration Joy leaps back to life.  Gratitude also  brings Joy. Jesus and Coffee

  Psalms 23:6 Psalms 23:1  Hebrews 6:19 Romans 5:5 Let’s talk about coffee for a second.  When I was a kid I  decided to try coffee because I wanted to drink it with my dad. Eww it was bitter! The majority of my adult life I just enjoyed the smell of  coffee but wanted no part of drinking it. My son, however, changed All of that a few years ago when he treated me to a  Frappe.  Now, I am part of the coffee loving world! Commenting to a family member about how much coffee goodness I had missed out on, I learned that my dad drank his with no sugar or creamer. No wonder it was bitter! I missed  out because I didn’t realize that coffee didn’t have to be bitter.  I want to share with you today that life doesn’t have to be bitter The 23rd Psalm speaks of God’s   faithfulness.
