Box of Joy

Psalms 150:6

Psalm 147:1

John 16:24

Philippians 4:4

Chirp Chirp Chirp sings the sweet little bird in the tree. Each note of her lovely  song wafting in the breeze. She sings with Joy to God her creator. As Psalms 150 verse 6 proclaims  “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!”

Worship brings Joy. Singing alone isn’t worship by any means but the song that is recanting the soul’s love and longing for God  is music in His ears. As a pianist, keyboard player and songwriter I love this part of worship. “Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.”

Psalms 147:1 NKJV

When we  open our mouth with sincere heart felt songs and adoration Joy leaps back to life.

Gratitude also  brings Joy. There is always something to be thankful for! doing dishes one night I found myself irritated at the amount of  dishes that I had to do but then I remembered to be thankful that I have food to eat and for  the family that eats off those dishes. Complaining never fixed a thing. It  pushes us deeper into dissatisfaction. Happiness it’s  just  a fair weather friend it’s only around in the good times. So Joy is our best option.

The soul is like a box. What we put In our box determines our level of joy. If we put in complaining, sinful things or problems that we aren’t taking to Jesus those things are so heavy that they push Joy to very bottom of the box where we just can’t access it. Jesus told us in John 16;24

“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

Place those problems at the feet of Jesus not in your box.

Don’t leave your box empty though! Fill it with the Word of God  With Faith, Hope and love add in a little Gratitude, and Praise  to our King and Creator. These contents will push your Joy to the top of the box. In fact your Joy might just bubble over. Pretty soon your song of praise will be wafting in the breeze like little miss Bird in the tree.

Thats why this last verse should be a daily sugar stick to remind yourself to keep your box full of the right things.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!”

Philippians 4:4
