Sparkle For Jesus

Image
Matthew 5:16 John  13:35 Hebrews 10:2 3   It’s very seldom that I am ask what my favorite color is because as a general rule one look at me and you  know pink is my most favorite color. Pink sparkles are even better!  You know,  God even paints with pink in His  sunsets and sunrises.  As you can  tell by the name of this program  “Sugar Sticks with Pinky” my nickname is “Pinky” So many times  my friends and family have told me that they saw something pink and it made them think of me. Aww so sweet! They associate me with Pink.  More than that I want to be associated with Jesus. I wanna sparkle for Jesus  As followers of Christ aren’t we called to shine Bright so  that people associate us with Jesus?! We don’t have to preach a sermon, write a devotional, wear Jesus t-shirts, or even post Christian stuff on social media  to shine Jesus. Those things are all awesome tools for us to use but simply living everyday lif...

Change the Key

Image
Psalms 51:10  Romans 12:2  Psalms 139-23-24  Proverbs 4:23 Music is one of the loveliest things God created. So I would like to start by  sharing a tiny bit of  music theory. The grand staff is where you will find the notes to the melody and the timing for a song. You will also find the key that the song is written in. For example,  if there are no sharps or flats then the song is in the key of C. What happens, though, if the singer can’t reach the notes in that key?  That could be treble! Alright alright enough with the puns..moving on. A lovely melody could then turn into a  mess of  sour notes. The solution is quite simple…change the key!  Our attitudes can get out of range veering off of our  grand staff creating discord  in  God’s ears. Rather than continuing with hasty rotten attitudes we can choose to change the key! Psalms 51:10 is a sugar stick that I like to call my “attitude adjustment” I use it when I n...

Long Before

1Samuel 17 Ephesians 6:11 II Corinthians 10:4  Isaiah  53:5    Hop in my Time Machine let’s go back about 8 years. It’s a Sunday morning and I’m playing piano as usual . During practice before church the Lord  highlights a line in the bridge of a worship  song. During the  Pastor’s sermon  God also highlights this statement  “nothing has or will ever happen to you that didn’t come thru God first” that next week I started finding out that I had cancer. Long before I got the news the Lord had won my battle.  Now let’s go back to Old Testament  days In 1Samuel 17 David,  a young shepherd  boy,  goes to give his brothers in the army food and supplies. Meanwhile 9 feet tall Goliath is threatening the army of Israel. David gets fired up and ready to go crush  Goliath. King Saul told him that he was too  young and Goliath a man of war. David then gives his testimony of how he killed  lions a...

Press In

Image
Psalms 37:5  Exodus 13:21 Psalms 16:8 Doors are often a way to describe a change of direction.  Ever try to open a door and it was hard to open and someone says press in just a little harder? Not every God door will just fly right open. Press in a little harder Face to Face with new doors  we at times feel like we are just standing there dazed by what is in front of us  We hold back and are almost frozen in our steps because we don't know what’s on the other side  of that door.  Thats when our knees bend and our heart cries out to God for His direction. “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:5 NKJV In the hallway of decision and changes you can rest assured that God is experienced at leading those who seek Him and who are obedient to His Word.  Thru the Old Testament we can see that Even in  the wilderness God led the Israelites. In Exodus 13:21 it says  “And the Lord went before them...
