Change the Key

Psalms 51:10

Romans 12:2

Psalms 139-23-24

Proverbs 4:23

Music is one of the loveliest things God created. So I would like to start by  sharing a tiny bit of  music theory. The grand staff is where you will find the notes to the melody and the timing for a song. You will also find the key that the song is written in. For example,  if there are no sharps or flats then the song is in the key of C. What happens, though, if the singer can’t reach the notes in that key?  That could be treble! Alright alright enough with the puns..moving on. A lovely melody could then turn into a  mess of  sour notes. The solution is quite simple…change the key!

Our attitudes can get out of range veering off of our  grand staff creating discord  in  God’s ears. Rather than continuing with hasty rotten attitudes we can choose to change the key! Psalms 51:10 is a sugar stick that I like to call my “attitude adjustment” I use it when I notice myself stepping out of  bounds “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Psalms 51:10 NKJV

I also pray this verse nightly in an effort to work on  maintaining a pure heart before the Lord. After all,  we are called to walk in Holiness thru the power of the Holy Spirit  not by our own perspectives. Our way of thinking effects our actions. It isn’t just our soul that needs to make a commitment to God but our thoughts have to be committed to Him as well. Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” NKJV

What goes in is what is what comes out. If we run all  our views thru God’s checklist then we will have an attitude that pleases Him.  Here’s another sugar stick that you can pray to help you “change the key” when bad attitudes show up. Psalms 139:23-24  “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”  NKJV

Don’t be afraid to pray and ask God  to turn His search light on your attitudes and  even Your opinions. “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.”

Proverbs 4:23 NKJV

Get rid of those unwanted attitudes and find harmony when you  change the key
